The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has ordered the dismissal of Inspector Kabiru Odeyemi for shooting Idris Bakare to death.
Bakare, a technician was shot dead on 28 May, 2023, in Oregun area of Ikeja during a party.
During the party, it was gathered that Odeyemi, who stormed the area with his colleagues, opened fire and shot the deceased, who later died.
A statement issued by the Lagos command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin on Wednesday said the Commissioner of Police has recommended the dismissal of Odeyemi.
He said his dismissal from the Police Force would pave way for his arraignment which would take place on Friday.
According to Hundeyin, the CP assured Lagosians of his unwavering determination to police the state within the dictates of rule of law, civility and respect for human life.
The statement read, “The recommendation for dismissal of Inspector Kabiru Odeyemi was today approved. This paves the way for his arraignment which will take place on Friday, July 7, 2023.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, assures Lagosians of his unwavering determination to police the state within the dictates of rule of law, civility and respect for human life.”
