The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, has reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s steadfast commitment to ensuring seamless traffic management throughout the forthcoming yuletide season.
Speaking directly to Lagosians, particularly the motoring public, Giwa emphasised the unwavering dedication of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to safeguarding order on the roads during this busy period.
As the festive season typically heralds a surge in vehicular movement and heightened commercial activity across the state, Giwa, during an address at LASTMA Headquarters in Oshodi, assured the public that LASTMA personnel will be strategically deployed to manage and regulate traffic flow both before, during, and after the yuletide festivities. He underscored the critical importance of maintaining traffic discipline in a city as dynamic and densely populated as Lagos, particularly as residents and visitors prepare for the holiday rush.
“The yuletide season is synonymous with increased activity, and we fully recognize the challenges posed by the resultant rise in traffic congestion. However, Lagosians can be assured that LASTMA officers will be visibly stationed and fully equipped to enforce smooth traffic control, mitigate gridlock, and ensure the utmost safety of road users,” Giwa declared.

He further assured the public that robust measures have been enacted to guarantee ease of movement across the state, even as traffic volumes are expected to peak. LASTMA personnel will remain on heightened alert at critical junctions and corridors within the city, ready to respond promptly to any emerging traffic disruptions. Giwa appealed to motorists and all road users to cooperate with LASTMA officials, adhere strictly to traffic regulations, and exercise patience during this bustling period.
“Our primary objective is to ensure that the yuletide season unfolds as smoothly as possible for all Lagosians. Traffic management is a shared responsibility, and we urge everyone to do their part in creating a safe and enjoyable season for all,” he added.
