The stakeholders of the Labour Party (LP) in Cross River State cautioned the former state party chairman, Mr. Ogar Osim, to stop presenting himself as chairman or face consequences.

The warning was given during the official introduction of the new caretaker committee to party members yesterday in Calabar, the state capital.

In response, Osim referred to those trying to remove him from his position as impostors. He demanded a thorough investigation of the Ushie-led group asserting that he was still in control.

Comrade John Ushie Ph.D, the chairman of the Labour Party Caretaker Committee in the state, stated that Osim’s term had ended, and he should cease identifying himself as chairman for the party’s peace.

Ushie, a past chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Cross River State, emphasized that Ogar doesn’t have the right to say he’s still in control when his time is up.

“As a party, we cannot allow one person to who is bent on pulling down the roof of the party for selfish and parochial interest.

“The good news is that we have been able to put an end to their evil schemes to thwart any further damage, for every evil has an expiring date.

“I want to use this opportunity to advise all and sundry that anyone who engages in doing any business as it concerns party’s issues is doing so at their peril.

“Ogar Osim was a product of Abure’s accidental leadership that has since expired in June 2024 and the recent nonrecognition of his exco by INEC is testimony that they are history of inglorious past marking the darkest period of the Labour party.

“They fed so far from last elections and don’t want to leave office, failing to know their offices are tenure bound”. He said.

A youth leader in Ward 6, Olulumo ward Okuni Ikom local government area of the state, Mr. Odey Nyambi, accused Osim of frequently suspending party members while he was the party Chairman.

In response to his ousting, the embattled state party Chairman Ogar Osim labeled those trying to remove him as impostors and demanded a thorough investigation of the Ushie-led group asserting he is still in control.
