Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 23 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud.
The suspects were apprehended during a coordinated operation in the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, following actionable intelligence linking them to fraudulent online activities.
The EFCC disclosed that the arrest was part of its ongoing efforts to rid the country of cybercrime and protect the digital space from abuse.
Items recovered from the suspects include eight luxury cars, laptops, mobile phones, a gaming console, and other incriminating materials believed to be tools for their illegal activities.

The EFCC reiterated its commitment to ensuring that perpetrators of internet fraud are brought to justice, stating that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
The commission also warned youths to steer clear of criminal activities, emphasising that its operatives are on high alert to track and apprehend individuals involved in cybercrime.
The EFCC encouraged members of the public to provide credible information that can aid its fight against economic and financial crimes.
