Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has responded to growing speculations about his potential 2027 presidential run, affirming that he is more than capable of declaring his ambitions when the time is right.
Speaking to reporters at Fashola Farm in Ibadan on Saturday, following a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) retreat, Makinde clarified that no one could dictate his political agenda.
- “Primate Ayodele never said Seyi Makinde would become president”
- Oba Olakulehin crowned 43rd Olubadan
- Makinde approves appointment of Olakulehin as 43rd Olubadan
He emphasised that when the moment arrives, he will make his intentions clear without hesitation.
Reflecting on his 2019 governorship bid, Makinde recalled being seen as an outsider with little political experience, yet the people of Oyo State placed their trust in him.
He pointed to his infrastructural achievements and his focus on building sustainable institutions to ensure good governance in the state.
