A 36 year old man, Samuel Kehinde, was charged by the Lagos Police on Monday in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court with theft of a motorcycle worth N1,200,000.
The offender, whose address is unknown, faces two counts of felony and theft and is awaiting trial. But Kehinde entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.
The defendant committed the offenses on September 24 at approximately 11:00 a.m. in Eyenkole Community, Ilogbo-Eremi, Badagry, Lagos, according to the prosecution, Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, who testified in court.
Adeosun alleged that the defendant conspired among others to commit a felony with stealing.

“He stole the motorcycle with registration number DX 167 QP valued at N1,200,000 property of one Rabiu Semiu.
“He was arrested with the motorcycle while trying to sell it to another person and was handed over to the police for prosecution,” he said.
According to the prosecution, the offenses were under Sections 411 and 287 of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Laws.
Mr. Patrick Adekomaiya, the Chief Magistrate, granted the defendant bail in the amount of N300,000 along with two sureties in the same amount.
He postponed the case until November 5 for mention and stipulated that at least one of the sureties had to be a level 12 civil servant of Lagos State.
