Manchester City were held to 1-1 draw by Everton on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium, a frustrating result that means Arsenal may open seven gap if they beat Brighton later today.

It was a bad way to end the year 2022 for Manchester City after garnering 76 percent ball possessions and 16 goal attempts, with only three shots on goal.

Everton, with two goal attempts scored with their only shot on goal, as they frustrated City from beginning till the end of the match.

City had opened scoring on 24th minute through Erling Haaland for his 21st goal of the season.

Riyad Mahrez teed up Haaland inside the box, and he kept his cool to score low into the middle of the goal.

Everton equalised on 64th minute through Demarai Gray.

Gray finished his beautiful individual effort with a superb strike from inside the box. Ederson was just a bystander as the ball flew off the post into the top right corner.

On added time De Bruyne had time and space inside the box after picking up a neat pass, but his shot towards the right side of the goal was brilliantly saved by Jordan Pickford.
