Man set ablaze as hoodlums invade Anambra vigilante office
Some yet-to-be-identified hoodlums, on Thursday, invaded the office of the Anambra State Vigilante in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state.
The hoodlums, in their large numbers, were reported to have invaded the premises at about 7am on Thursday, setting ablaze a yet-to-be-identified middle-aged man who was in a vehicle belonging to the AVG operatives, and setting him ablaze together with the vehicle.
The details of the development were still sketchy, and the reason for the attack could not be fully ascertained as of press time.
This was also corroborated by a video currently circulating on social media, showing where the vehicle was burning with a voice calling for the state fire service.
When contacted on the telephone, the state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the attack took place, but said the full details were not available yet at his disposal.
“Yes, the attack took place, but the full details are not available yet; our men are on the scene to bring normalcy to the area. I will call you back, please,” Ikenga said.
