Manchester United staged a spirited comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Everton in a pulsating Premier League encounter at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The match was marked by controversial VAR decisions, stunning goals, and high-intensity drama that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Everton started brightly and took the lead in the 19th minute when Beto capitalised on a brilliant assist from Abdoulaye Doucoure to fire past Andre Onana. A VAR review followed to check for a possible offside, but referee Andy Madley confirmed the goal stood.

The home side doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute, with Doucoure once again at the heart of the action. Pouncing on a rebound inside the six-yard box, he guided a header into the net, leaving Manchester United with an uphill battle.

United found a lifeline in the 72nd minute when Bruno Fernandes delivered a superb free-kick from the edge of the box, curling the ball inside the right post to reduce the deficit.

The Red Devils’ resurgence was complete in the 80th minute when Manuel Ugarte capitalised on a loose ball at the edge of the box and rifled home a precise shot into the bottom left corner to level the score at 2-2.

The drama escalated further in the 84th minute when United appealed for a penalty after an apparent handball in the Everton box. However, after a VAR review, the referee waved away their claims, much to the frustration of the visiting side.

As the match entered stoppage time, Everton were awarded a penalty in the 94th minute after Matthijs de Ligt was adjudged to have committed a foul. But controversy erupted when the referee opted for a VAR review and ultimately overturned his decision, leaving the Toffees furious.

Both sides had chances in the dying moments, with Jordan Pickford denying Fernandes and Onana pulling off a brilliant save to deny Idrissa Gueye.
