Fernabahce Manager, Jose Mourinho has stated that Manchester United might still win the 2017-18 Premier League title if the English top tier punishes Manchester City.
It should be recalled that Mourinho guided Manchester United to second position behind Man City during the 2017-18 season.
But Man City are currently facing a hearing into over 100 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules dating back to when Mourinho was in charge of the Red Devils.
Mourinho feels United could be handed the title if City is found guilty and punished by the Premier League.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Fernabahce’s Europa League clash with Man United on Thursday, Mourinho said:
“I think Man Utd still have a chance to win that league [2017/18 season] if they punish Manchester City.
“In that case, I hope they give me my medal and pay me the bonus.”
