Chief Jim Nwobodo, former governor of the old Anambra state, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Enugu in the March 11 general elections, Dr Peter Mbah, would win by landslide.
Nwobodo said this at a well-attended rally of dignitaries and supporters across various political parties of Enugu East Senatorial Zone held for Mbah in Enugu on Friday.
The rally was tagged “Enugu East Senatorial District Endorsement Rally for Dr Peter Ndubuishi Mbah: Our Choice for Gubernatorial Election.”
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the elder statesman expressed joy over the overwhelming support the PDP gubernatorial flag bearer has been enjoying across the state.
He said that feelers from the political atmosphere pointed to the fact that Mbah would win by landslide.
He described Mbah as “young, vibrant and intelligent”.
Nwobodo called on the people to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to collect their permanent voter’s cards and vote for the PDP.
He commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his foresight in endorsing Mbah for the election and his commitment to developing the state.
Nwobodo, however, chided critics of Governor Ugwuanyi in the state and described them as disgruntled elements.
He urged the governor to disregard them and continue his good work.
