The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reported the killing of 1,937 terrorists, including 65 high-profile leaders and commanders, during military operations across Nigeria in the past three months.
In a statement, the DHQ also revealed that 2,782 suspected terrorists were arrested, while 1,854 kidnap victims were rescued during the third quarter of the year.

Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, shared that the military has focused on eliminating terrorist leaders and dismantling their networks as part of ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency efforts across the country.
He explained, “Throughout the third quarter, our troops, in coordination with the air force, carried out strategic bombings and ground operations, which weakened the terrorists’ military capabilities and disrupted their organization.”
