    Minister of State for Agriculture, Abdullahi Sabi Aliyu has urged Nigerian youths to cultivate the habit of farming in order to promote the country’s agricultural sector.
    Aliyu, stated this at the 2024 Progressive Young Leaders Summit (PYLS) which was held from September 3rd to 5th at the State House, Banquet Hall, Abuja.
    The minister, while delivering his speech to over 6,000 young Nigerians who has shown interest in the group initiative tagged ‘Progressive Young Farmers Network’, stated the agricultural sector will improve should youths derived pleasure in farming. He however highlighted all hands will be on deck to ensure the idea spread across rural and urban areas of the country while hinting the summit will enhance Nigeria’s food security by providing young farmers with access to government support, training and resources.

    The summit, inaugurated by APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and other public figures which includes Minister of Art and Culture, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Steel Developments, Shuaibu Audu was also focused on youth engagement in governance, technology and economical growth.

    Reacting to the occasion which ended with a Gala Dinner, host and APC National Youths Leader, Dayo Israel, expressed pride in the initiative and commitment to empowering Nigerian youth.

    In his words: ” As a son of a farmer, it gives me immense pride to have conceived this initiative, which will nurture the next generation of agribusiness professionals and I also extend our deepest gratitude to all our partners, participants, and stakeholders for their invaluable contributions. As we move forward, we remain committed to ensuring that the voices of Nigeria’s youth are heard loud and clear in the national discourse.”
    “The resounding success of the summit affirms the critical role that youth will continue to play in the nation’s development across sectors, from governance to technology and agriculture.”
