NDLEA uncovers Australia-bound cocaine in Lagos (video)

In a series of daring operations, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted massive quantities of illicit substances, including cocaine, codeine, and cannabis, across various locations in Nigeria.
In Lagos, NDLEA officers recovered 20 wraps of cocaine weighing 330 grams from a cargo shipment bound for Australia.
The cocaine parcels were cleverly concealed around the body of face cream containers. This significant seizure underscores the agency’s vigilance in combating international narcotics trafficking.

In another major bust, NDLEA operatives intercepted two containers at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex in Onne, Rivers State. The containers, which were watch-listed by the agency, yielded a staggering 338,200 bottles of codeine-based syrup worth over N1.1 billion in street value.

Meanwhile, in Lagos, the traditional chief priest of the Igunuko shrine, Alpha beach Ajah Lekki, Bariu Aliu (alias Malo), has been apprehended by NDLEA operatives after a three-month manhunt.
Aliu was wanted in connection with the recovery of 2,760kg of skunk at the shrine on October 25, 2024.
In Kano, a suspect, Habibu Ya’u, 23, was arrested during a raid on Gadar Tamburawa, Zaria road, where NDLEA officers seized 45 blocks of cannabis weighing 24.2kg and 40,800 pills of opioids, including tramadol.
The NDLEA has continued its nationwide War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization campaign, targeting schools, worship centers, workplaces, and communities. Recent WADA activities include enlightenment lectures at Ijaye Housing Estate Junior Secondary School in Lagos, surrendered Boko Haram members at Hajj camp in Maiduguri, Borno State, and Muslim faithful during Juma’at prayer at Kamba Central Mosque in Kebbi State.
