DAMATURU – The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has provided crucial support to flood-affected communities in Yobe State, distributing food and non-food items to alleviate their suffering.
This intervention is part of NEDC’s broader strategy to address the humanitarian and economic challenges facing the North East region.
Food Items are 200 bags of rice, 200 cartons of spaghetti/macaroni, 200 gallons of vegetable oil, Non-Food Items, 200 pieces of nylon mats.
The Commission’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Goni Alkali, was represented by Yobe State Coordinator Professor Ali Ibrahim Abbas during the distribution. Abbas emphasized that the relief items aimed to alleviate the hardship faced by the affected communities.

The Executive Chairman of Fune Local Government, Bagoni Bade, expressed profound gratitude to the NEDC for its timely assistance.

This effort is particularly significant given the severe flooding in Yobe State, which has affected over 239,000 people and forced many to relocate to temporary shelters.
