The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has commenced a three-day training workshop for journalists and civil society organisations (CSOs) on Non-Kinetic Approaches to insurgency and terrorism across the North-East region and the nation in general.
Speaking at the opening session in Maiduguri, NEDC Managing Director, Muhammad Alkali, explained the commission’s dedication to addressing the root causes of conflict through its North-East Stabilisation and Development Master Plan.
Alkali said that the workshop is meant to equip participants with the skills needed to foster peacebuilding and change the negative narratives to drive development in the conflict-affected region.

He called for stronger collaboration between the media, CSOs and the NEDC to sustain ongoing rebuilding efforts and promote harmonious coexistence.
