In a significant step towards addressing the pressing humanitarian needs of the Tarmuwa Local Government Area and keying into Government efforts of Durable Solutions, North East Youth Initiative for Development (NEYIF), in collaboration with Save the Children International (SCI), has initiated a pilot project to foster sustainable development and peacebuilding.
As part of this initiative, NEYIF and SCI representatives ably led by the Executive Director Comrade Dauda Muhammad Gombe and Mr. Benjamin Laah, Operations Coordinator of SCI recently met with the Tarmuwa Local Government Chairman, Muhammad Lamido Musa, and the Emir of Jajere, HRH. Alhaji Mai Hamza Buba Ibn Isah Mashio.
The purpose of these meetings was to engage key stakeholders and discuss the challenges faced by the Babbangida community, which has been heavily impacted by the influx of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

In his opening remark, the Executive Director of NEYIF expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and the critical stakeholders of Tarmuwa LG for their unwavering support in all of its activities in the LGA.
“Additionally, we’re optimistic that this pilot project would address key challenges in your community, NEYIF would do everything humanly possible to see that this project has a positive impact shortly.” The ED said.
On the other hand, Mr. Benjamin, however, noted that the pilot project aims to provide a comprehensive solution to the community’s multifaceted problems by combining humanitarian relief efforts with long-term development and peacebuilding initiatives.
Both the Chairman and the Emir expressed their unwavering support for the project, emphasizing its timeliness in addressing the urgent needs of the community. They pledged their full cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the initiative and thanked SCI for their commitment to this course.
