The Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF), intends to hire a new technical adviser for the Super Eagles, who will be Finidi George’s immediate boss, according to a report from ScoreNigeria.
Finidi was only designated as the substantive coach by the football house in April.
Before his employment, the former international was an assistant to Jose Peseiro, whose contract expired in February.
However, Finidi’s reign has gone poorly. As interim coach, he guided Nigeria to a victory over Ghana, a draw against South Africa before losing to Mali.
The defeats have left Nigeria in a precarious position in the World Cup qualifiers, as they need to win at least four of their last six games.
It is anticipated that in order to salvage the situation, the NFF would meet with Sports Minister Owan Enoh to settle on a new technical adviser.
The NFF proposes that Finidi work under someone else, most likely a foreigner with more coaching expertise.
