    Nibo killing: Police allege frustration of investigation by victims’ relatives

    The Anambra State Police Command has alleged that y some of the relatives of deceased victims of  of the cult-related killings that occurred in Nibo, Awka South local government area of the state on Sunday have been burying evidence relating to the tragedy.

    The Command’s spokesman,  Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement in Awka on Monday, made the allegation.

    “Anambra State Police Command remains committed to the ongoing investigation and to arrest the perpetrators of the cult-related killings in Nibo yesterday 20/10/2024, which recorded five persons dead and and currently receiving treatment in a hospital.

    “The Command also frowns at the act of some deceased relatives to bury evidence, suppress information and disrupt the ongoing investigation,” he said.

    Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has visited the scene of the clash for on the spot assessment.

    He stated that “the Command had redoubled its efforts to leave no stone unturned in hunting down the assailants.”
