The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ajuji Ahmed, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of deliberately creating crises within opposition political parties. He made these claims during the launch of the NNPP governorship campaign for their Ondo State candidate, Olugbenga Edema, in Akure on Thursday.
Ajuji Ahmed alleged that the APC has been interfering in the internal affairs of opposition parties, aiming to create divisions and weaken their structures. He believes this is part of the ruling party’s strategy to maintain power beyond the 2027 elections.

“There is clear evidence that the APC is meddling in other political parties to destabilize them,” said Ahmed. He stressed that the APC’s goal is to retain control after President Bola Tinubu’s administration, but urged opposition parties to stay united and preserve their integrity in the face of these challenges.
Ahmed also revealed that the NNPP is collaborating with other opposition parties, with plans to form an alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections. He called on Ondo State residents to come out in large numbers to support and vote for Edema in the upcoming governorship election.
“The APC is doing everything possible to win the 2027 general election, but we are prepared to form a coalition of all political parties and challenge them,” Ahmed added.
