LAGOS – Muhammad Auwal Musa, the National Youth Leader of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has urged the government and compassionate individuals to take steps to alleviate the effects of the flood in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Musa, who doubles as the chairman of the National Youth Leaders Forum of Political Parties in Nigeria, issued the statement on Thursday, which he personally signed and shared with journalists.
The catastrophic flood has rendered many people homeless, stripped of their means of living, and deprived of vital supplies, leading to significant anguish and forced relocation.

The youth leader expressed gratitude for the generosity of many Nigerians and stressed the importance of extending further assistance to those impacted by the calamity.
He urged the Federal Government to promptly take proactive steps in delivering immediate relief and aid to affected communities, implementing sustainable strategies to prevent future flooding, and supporting reconstruction and rehabilitation endeavors.
Highlighting the government’s crucial role in safeguarding citizens’ well-being, he emphasized the necessity of pooling resources and swift action to alleviate the hardships faced by our populace.
“The magnitude of this catastrophe necessitates a thorough and all-encompassing reaction from the Federal Government,” he emphasized.
