The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, responded to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Nyesom Wike, asserting that no one can disrupt the stability of his state.
Mohammed, who leads the PDP Governors’ Forum, made this statement before a meeting with the National Working Committee of the party in Bauchi State.
This reaction from the governor comes after Wike accused PDP governors of meddling in matters related to the party’s leadership in Rivers.
In a meeting in mid-August, PDP governors elected Siminalayi Fubara, who is estranged from Wike, as the party leader in Rivers, causing discontent from Wike who, with his supporters, organized a congress to solidify their influence within Rivers PDP.
But responding yesterday Governor Mohammed said, “Nobody can put fire in Bauchi State. Bauchi has volumes of water. Even my friend that is saying that he is saying that because he is annoyed.

“Maybe I had said something that annoyed him. But it is not personal. My friend is my friend, my job is my job and leadership is leadership.”
Addressing internal party issues, the governor said, “None of the parties are insulated from crises here and there and that is why leadership is there. If we have a quarrel, it is not personal. Nobody should misunderstand us. We are together.”
He mentioned that discussions regarding these matters would occur during the gathering.
The PDP Legal Adviser, Kamaludeen Ajibade, SAN, who headed the team to Bauchi, disclosed the purpose of the party’s NWC visit to the North-Eastern State.
“The purpose of the visit is to identify with the Governor and salute his courage as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum. A lot of things have been going on in our party and we cannot pretend that all is going on well,” he said.
Ajibade conveyed contentment that the chairman and other governors are tackling these issues and guaranteed that any actions initiated by the Governors’ Forum will be carried out by the National Working Committee.
