MAKURDI – As the war between the camp of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume and Governor Hyacinth Alia wages on in Benue State, the Chairman, Elders’ Forum, All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state has vowed that no one can stop Governor Alia, from coming back for a second term.
He challenged those that said they were specialists in preventing a Governor to complete two terms that they would not succeed, adding that this was a different ball game all together.
Gemade, who is also the Chairman, Forum of Chairmen, Governing Boards of Tertiary Institution in Nigeria, disclosed this last weekend at a Civic Grand Reception organized to honour him and six other Benue sons that were appointed to various Boards of Tertiary Institutions in the country.

During the event, which was organized by APC Youth Forum, Chairman of the occasion, Engr Innocent Ikwumonu, called on the people of the state to continue to be supportive of Governor Alia to move on with the work he was doing.
He stated that for a while now the people of the state have prayed for the leadership style possessed by the governor, who have done very well in the area of infrastructure and other developmental projects.
However, Gemade who challenged those that have said the governor would not make it, if he ventures to come for a second term, said he and others of like mind would ensure that Governor Alia was given a second term.
He explained that Governor Alia, deserves a second term more than any other governor before him.

According to Gemade, “Nobody whatsoever is going to stop Governor Alia from making eight years of governorship. There are people in this state who try to stop people from being governor but there also other people who tried to stop governors from having a second term and there are people here who made sure that governors have a second term.
“So, those who try to make sure governors don’t have a second term must know that we are always here to make sure governors have a second term. And this particular governor deserves a second term more than anyone before him. And that is what is going to happen”, he vowed.
Speaking on behalf of the honoraries, Gemade said, “I can assure you that those of us standing here are going to make sure that Benúe receive it’s worth in all the places we are going to; young people should not despair, at least among the seven us, there is a young man so many more of you are going to come on this board.
Governor Hyacinth Alia, who was represented at the occasion by the Secretary of the State Government (SSG), Prof Joseph Alakali said, “The
Governor and the Government of Benue State is grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for approving his nominees on the Board of tertiary institutions of Nigeria and we remain indebted to the president for this.
“I wish to also thank the Governor for nominating credible people and as you can all see that all that have been given these positions are people of high profile and have wealthy experiences in their different fields of endeavor.
“We appreciate the governor that all the nominees also cut across the three senatorial zones of Benue and it is view of the credible profile of these persons that one of them is the Chairman of the Governing Boards of Tertiary Institution in Nigeria.
“We know that Governor Alia means well for Benue state and he has a drive, a crave and a passion to move Benue forward and to place Benue on the radar of states.”
Meanwhile, Governor Alia charged the honorees to make the interest of the state paramount, in order to make Benue proud and also carry everyone along, including the youth.
