Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has cast his vote and made fresh demands for a transparent and credible election process. The governor voted at polling unit 19, Ward 4, located inside Emokpae Primary School in Benin City.
Obaseki arrived at the polling unit around 11:57 a.m., where he briefly interacted with election officials and voters before casting his ballot.

Speaking after casting his vote, Governor Obaseki expressed satisfaction with the smooth and orderly conduct of the election at his polling unit. He noted that the process was efficient and hopes this standard is maintained across the state. “I am pleased with what I have seen here today. The process has been smooth, and I hope it remains so throughout the state,” Obaseki said.
In addition to praising the voting process, Governor Obaseki stressed the importance of transparent and seamless vote collation. He urged electoral officials to ensure the integrity of the election is maintained not only during voting but also in the collation and announcement of results.
