ASABA – Delta State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party on Wednesday received decampees from the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.
Speaking yesterday in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area ( LGA) during the mega rally of the party in preparation for the upcoming LGA elections in the state, Oborevwori who welcomed the decampees, said that there is no room for disparity amongst party members.
According to Oborevwori, “No fighting, go there and cast your vote; we will reap what you have planted. I asked my predecessor why he came and he said he came to campaign for the candidate of his local government, which shows you the love within the party.

“I will not criticize any political party because I will only focus on what I want to do”.
He then urged members of the party to continue in the ward to ward sensitization to ensure a landslide victory in the elections.
He charged the PDP faithful to desist from any form of electoral violence during the polls.
Meanwhile, the Immediate Past Senator Representing Delta South Senatorial District, Hon James Manager mooted that the party will not entertain claims of electoral malpractice, stating that let no party say that it was not in their favor because as it is we are the only one campaigning across the 25 local government areas of Delta.

During his address, Former Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa urged stalwarts to be patient with the incumbent administration saying that the appointments would go around with time so let no one deceive them to decamp into another party.
According to Okowa, “I am very glad when we come out for rallies, it is good that our Governor has called for such a rally because with this we have taken over every local government.
After Saturday, some parties will say the votes were written but we have been campaigning while they have been sleeping.
“We have gone to every unit, and ward to campaign but they have not stay united for the family to stand, sometimes the food may not get to everyone at the same time but it will still go around. We have built our house on a rock while the others built theirs on sand”.
In the same vein, Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme mentioned that the local government elections will be another statement of the love Deltans have for the party.
“I hope you all know you have all won the upcoming elections. Saturday will be a good day to remind others that Delta is a PDP state; there is no need to change what is working fine.
In his speech, Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, speaking on behalf of the defectors, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Benjamin Okiemute Essien assured Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of victory in Isoko in subsequent elections, saying; “I am a political bulldozer in Isoko” and pledged to contribute his quota to the growth and development of the state.
