The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended two additional suspects in connection with the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
Acting on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, operatives of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Special Squad arrested the suspects early Friday, January 24, 2025.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Friday, said the suspects, identified as Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30, were intercepted while attempting to flee Lagos State.
He said during interrogation, they confessed to being part of a four-member gang responsible for the abduction, with two members of the gang previously neutralised.

He said recovered from the suspects were ₦2,250,000, believed to be part of the ransom paid for Mrs. Odumosu’s release, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.
Commending the operatives for their swift action, the IGP praised their gallantry and urged them to maintain their dedication to combating crime.
He reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens, with a focus on minimising crime and fostering peace across the nation.
Adejobi assured Nigerians that the police remain resolute in their efforts to tackle criminal activities and protect the public.
