The former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah has tasked Abia All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful in Abia State on unity and sincerity. This he said will bring peace and progress to the party.
Ogah who gave the task while addressing party faithful made of up LG party chairmen and other stakeholders, in Umuahia, said the party can only take over Abia state in 2027 if her leaders and members work with unity of purpose.
Ogah noted that since 2019, Abia APC has had an influx of personalities that could have led to the party sweeping elections.
He lamented that insincerity, backbiting gossip have been the biggest setback preventing the party from achieving its targets.
He called for mutual respect among members, saying that everyone is important.
The former Minister who lamented that some persons alleged that he worked against the interest of the APC in 2023, said such claims were peddled by enemies of APC.
He thanked the members of the APC who attended the meeting for their support for him and the APC and encouraged them to maintain their support for President Bola Tinubu to deliver more democracy dividend to Nigerians.
Earlier in his speech, a factional Chairman of APC in Abia APC, Goldie Wabara assured that all efforts are on towards uniting the party members and encouraged the members to remain upbeat in their support for Dr. Ogah and the party at large.
The only APC member in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Anderson Akaliro, member representing Abia state in the Public Complain Commission, Dr Madukwe Ukaegbu and the Publicity Secretary of APC, Chief Ofor Okorie among others, called for peace in Abia APC.
The leaders also thanked Dr Ogah for his continued support for the party.
Chairmen from 184 Wards, some executive Chairmen and 42 zonal co-ordinators attended the meeting.
Highlight was the presentation of a new Toyota Hummer Bus and other cars to w Abia APC and some loyal party members.
