    Ogun man Monday Edereno dies after consuming herbal concoction

    A 26- years-old man identified as Monday Edereno, has died after he allegedly drank a herbal concoction popularly known as ‘agbo’ in the home of the herbalist that gave him the mixture in Ogun State.

    The deceased, who was said to have complained of leg pain traveled from Ijebu Ode to purchase the herbal mixture from one Ifakunle Olanrewaju a traditional attendants who specializes in administering herbal concoctions at Asa Elegbada Village area of Owode Elegba in Ogun state.

    But Ogun police command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed in a statement in Abeokuta, the state capital on Friday that Edereno was found dead in the home of the herbalist at about 7:00a.m on Thursday.

    She stated further that Olanrewaju reported the incident to the command saying, the deceased, his regular customer, bought a herbal mixture from him on Wednesday and died the next day.

    Odutola noted that following the report the he was taken into custody for questioning.

    She said Ifakunle Olanrewaju, a 28-year-old traditional attendants who specializes in administering herbal concoctions from Asa Elegbada Village near Owode Egba reported the death of his customer to the police.

    “According to his account, one Monday Edereno , 26 years old, a customer who used to patronize his herbal concoction visited him from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, and had previously complained of a discomforting pain in his right leg on the Wednesday and Olanrewaju in his habitual manner, provided him with some herbal mixtures.

    “Sadly, on the 12/09/2024 at about 0700 hours, Edereno was found dead in his home.

    Omotola disclosed that the remains of the deceased have been transferred to the mortuary at General Hospital, Owode Egba, for an autopsy and investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of the death.

    “Meanwhile, the family of the deceased represented by one Pastor Raphel Omogboru, has been notified.”
