Okpebholo asks Edo Assembly to confirm 6 for appointment as commissioners

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo on Tuesday submitted a list of six Commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
This was contained in a letter by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, dated 7 January, 2025, and addressed to the Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku.

The names of the six Commissioner-nominees are: Paul Nosayaba Ohonbamu, Washington Osa Osifo, Paddy Iyamu, Lucky Eseigbe, Andrew ljegbai, and Marie Olabisi Idaomi.
Ohonbamu was two-time State lawmaker and former a Commissioner for Information and Orientation during the first tenure of the immediate past Governor Godwin Obaseki, while Osifo is former Commissioner for Education during the administration of Adams Oshiomhole.
“At the instance of His Excellency, the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, I write to forward for your consideration and confirmation, the underlisted names as Commissioner designates,” the letter said in part.
