LAGOS – The All Progressive Congress (APC) has restated that Monday Okpebholo is still their gubernatorial candidate in the Edo State gubernatorial election set for today (Saturday).
The APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, clarified this in a statement from Abuja.
Morka mentioned that this clarification was needed due to false information claiming Okpebholo was disqualified by a magistrate court.
He stated that the magistrate court in question disclaimed the fake ruling, confirming it did not originate from them.

The Publicity Secretary added that this fake ruling, aimed at casting doubt on the APC candidate, was a deliberate attempt to undermine the Edo voters’ choice.
“As we approach the Edo gubernatorial election on Saturday, September 21, 2024, some political parties have resorted to deceit and misinformation about our candidate in a last-minute effort.”
“The blackmail dey reach the level wey dem dey spread fake magistrate court ruling wey talk say Sen. Okpebholo, wey be APC candidate for the election, don disqualify.
“The ruling wey dem dey spread na fake, e pure lie and na desperate move as dem dey see say dem go lose for the election,” Morka yarn.
