The Southern Nigeria Senators Forum praised the voters in Edo State for choosing one of their members as the new governor of the State on Saturday. They believe that Senator Monday Okpebholo’s victory will usher progress and development for the people of Edo State.
The Forum responded to Senator Okpebholo’s victory in the Edo State governorship election on Sunday.
In a statement from the Forum’s Chairman, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, which was released on Monday, lawmakers from the southern region affirmed that the governor-elect’s past accomplishments and his grasp of Edo State’s issues will enable him to revamp the State for the benefit of its people.

The statement read: “The forum expressed optimism that Senator Okpebholo’s tenure as governor will usher in a new era of progress and development for Edo State, given his track record of service in the Senate and his understanding of the challenges facing the state.
“The Nigerian Southern Senators Forum has extended its heartfelt congratulations to one of its distinguished members, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on his successful election as the Executive Governor-Elect of Edo State in the just-concluded election held on September 21, 2024.”
The Forum assured their backing and collaboration, encouraging the governor-elect to persist in enhancing Edo State and Nigeria as a whole.
