    …Vows to Re-elect Him in 2027

The Olomu/Effurun-Otor Political Elites Forum has expressed its support for Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, by passing a vote of confidence in recognition of his developmental initiatives.

This endorsement was made during the forum’s end-of-year gathering at Don Chizle Hotel in Oguname on Thursday, where the Executive Director of Projects at DESOPADEC, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, was also honoured.

In his address, the forum’s Chairman, Olorogun Samuel Oghotomo, stated that the event was held to appreciate members for their unity and commitment in securing victory for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori in the 2023 elections, as well as the 2024 elections in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

He remarked, “We are also here to celebrate our brother and leader, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu (JP), on his well-deserved appointment as Executive Director of Projects at DESOPADEC.

“Okorodudu is a humble and honest gentleman who is an astute grassroots politician. We have strong confidence in his ability to deliver on his mandate to promote the agenda of His Excellency, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, for a peaceful and prosperous Delta State.

“We want to assure him that the Olomu/Effurun-Otor Political Elites Forum stands firmly behind him in all initiatives aimed at developing our communities and supporting party members in his mandate area.

“Our goal is to secure victory for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 elections and for other upcoming PDP candidates.

“We extend our gratitude to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for the great honour of selecting our brother, Olorogun Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu (JP), for this esteemed position.

“We also appreciate the support and recognition he has provided to Ughelli South and particularly to Olomu and Effurun-Otor.

“They say, ‘To whom much is given, much is expected.’ We will reciprocate all your generous gestures towards Ughelli South in terms of your policies aimed at better service for Deltans and, importantly, in achieving an overwhelming victory for you and the PDP in 2027.

He noted their anticipation for the Governor’s continued support in appointing members to boost their morale and hope. Since the passing of their leader and patron, Olorogun Sir Taleb Tebite, they have struggled to gain access to government appointments for their dedicated supporters.

In his speech, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu commended the governor for his appointment, stating that although people had pressured him to seek the position, he chose not to pursue it out of respect for the former officeholder, the late Olorogun Taleb Tebite.

“I have served the current Governor in various capacities, and I know him to be a man of integrity who values those with similar principles. He is not someone who can be easily swayed to act unethically.

“I am immensely grateful to the governor for my appointment, which represents Olomu, Effurun-Otor, Ughelli South, and the surrounding mandate areas.

“We must reciprocate this support wholeheartedly for our leader, Governor Oborevwori. I also need your support to succeed in this role.

“I stand with this forum at all times. The history of Ughelli South is set to change for the better,” he added.

Following his remarks, Hon. Emmanuel Ohwofasa moved a motion of vote of confidence in the governor, which was seconded by Prince Steve Ovedje.

In response, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Mr. Ojays Ojigho, expressed gratitude to the members of the Olomu/Effurun-Otor Political Elites Forum for the event.

Represented by Olorogun Raymond Temisere, the Acting Secretary of the PDP in the Local Government Area, Ojays noted that such gatherings foster unity among party members and can help attract new members to the PDP.

He urged them to remain steadfast in their efforts to strengthen the party at both grassroots and state levels.

Hon. Festus Utuama, the member representing Ughelli South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, along with business mogul, Olorogun Alfred Mrakpor, Olorogun Gordons Okomitie, Executive Assistant to the Governor, and other political leaders, were in attendance.

Also present were the Secretary of the Olomu/Effurun-Otor Political Elites Forum, Prince Ochuko Oyoroko; Treasurer Chief Omokeni Convey; Women Leader Mrs. Ufuoma Oyibo; Financial Secretary Hon. Omojevwe Duku; Publicity Secretary Mr. Ochuko Omorere; Chairman of the Elders Forum Chief Fullpower Orubure; Vice Chairman of the Elders Forum Chief Samuel Oboramohwoyere; Members of the Elders Forum including Chief Vincent Otidi, Chief Jabin Ighomena, Chief John Ewenede, and Chief Eric Oluku, representing Olomu Ward 1, Olomu Ward 2, and Effurun-Otor Ward.
