LAGOS – After extensive consultation and engagement with students’ union leaders and key stakeholders within Ondo State, the students have resolved not to participate in the planned nationwide protest scheduled for October 1st, rather they will embrace a peaceful dialogue.
The resolve was made known on Sunday by Hon. Kevin Solomon Olaolu, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Student Affairs to Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State.
‘’This decision comes after constructive dialogue, during which student leaders acknowledged the ongoing commitment of the Ondo State Government to prioritise student welfare and address their concerns,’’ the senior special assistant said.
Olaolu reassured the student body that the state government was fully dedicated to safeguarding their interests and would continue to focus on policies that promote their growth, safety, and development.

They emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stating that dialogue and collaboration are more effective in advancing their collective goals than violence.
The union leaders, being representatives of the student populace, called on all students in the state to embrace peaceful resolutions and to trust in the ongoing efforts of the government to address any challenges. The students remain confident that through collaboration, their welfare will continue to be a top priority for the Ondo State Government.
