Osasuna delivered an unforgettable performance on Sunday, defeating Barcelona 4-2 in a thrilling La Liga clash, ending Barca’s unbeaten start to the season.
Bryan Zaragoza played a pivotal role, scoring one goal and providing an assist, as the Rojillos snapped a five-match winless run against the Blaugrana.
From the outset, Osasuna showcased their attacking intent, testing Barcelona’s youthful defence.
According to Flashscore, Eric García initially kept the visitors steady, blocking an early strike from Zaragoza. However, the hosts remained relentless.
Croatian striker Ante Budimir came close in the 15th minute with a shot that narrowly missed the far post but found the opener minutes later. Zaragoza beat Jules Koundé to deliver a pinpoint cross, which Budimir headed past Pau Cubarsí to give Osasuna a deserved 1-0 lead.
Osasuna nearly doubled their advantage shortly after, as Iñaki Peña’s clearance landed at Rubén García’s feet, only for Budimir to accidentally block his teammate’s shot.
Moments later, Zaragoza capitalized on a perfect through ball from Pablo Ibáñez, deftly rounding Peña before slotting it home to make it 2-0. Barcelona struggled to respond, with their best chance of the first half coming from Koundé, whose header struck the crossbar.

After the break, Robert Lewandowski became more involved, but the Polish forward saw his free-kick sail just wide and was later denied by Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.
However, Herrera’s mistake gifted Barcelona a lifeline. His poor throw allowed Gerard Martín to set up Pau Víctor, whose shot found the back of the net to make it 2-1.
Osasuna continued to fight, and despite pressure from Barcelona substitutes Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, they restored their two-goal cushion.
Budimir won a penalty after being fouled by Sergi Domínguez and calmly converted to make it 3-1. The hosts sealed their triumph in the 85th minute, as Abel Bretones fired a stunning strike to cap off the night.
Barcelona’s Yamal scored a consolation goal late on, but it wasn’t enough to stop Osasuna from claiming their fourth consecutive home win in La Liga—a feat they hadn’t achieved since 2008.
