    The Palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland has officially announced the demise of Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, saying that the sad event took place between the hours of 11th and 12th of September, 2024.

    The Odole Owa of ljesaland, and the traditional Prime Minister of the Palace, who spoke on behalf of the Agba-ljesa of ljesaland, the Aafin Owa Obokun Adimula and the people of ljesaland, Royal High Chief Adebola Orolugbagbe, said all markets across ljesaland shall remain closed for seven days starting from 14th and ending on 20th September, 2024.

    Orolugbagbe who said no curfew was imposed anywhere in ljesaland. He urged citizens to move about their normal daily lives and activities without fear.

    He announced that the markets shall reopen on 21st September, 2024, saying that traditional transition rites shall continue for 90 davs.

    “The traditional Palace at Okemese shall remain closed with immediate effect while all activities are suspended until further notice.

    “ljesaland has indeed lost a rare gem, a father to all and a quintessential traditional ruler of old, who superintended over the entire ljesaland spanning 42 years between 1982 and 2024. Under his reign, ljesaland witnessed peace, unity, harmony and immense developmental projects.

    “We urge all sons and daughters of ljesaland to remain peaceful and be in prayers for the family left behind by our Kabiyesi and for the entire ljesaland as a whole,” Orolugbagbe said.
