The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially affirmed Rt. Hon. S.K.E Udeh Okoye as the party’s substantive National Secretary, citing the judgment of the Court of Appeal.
In a statement released on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the NWC disclosed that its decision followed extensive deliberation on a memo presented by the Acting National Chairman, which was dated February 11, 2025.
The committee reviewed key legal documents, including the declaratory judgment of the High Court of Enugu and the ruling of the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, which confirmed Udeh Okoye’s position.
The party said it also considered legal opinions from Dr. Kabiru T. Turaki, SAN, and the party’s National Legal Adviser.

After a thorough review, the NWC unanimously recognised and confirmed Udeh Okoye’s status as National Secretary, stating that there is no existing court order overturning the Court of Appeal’s judgment.
Consequently, the party said it has begun the process of transmitting its decision to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant bodies for formal recognition.
The NWC praised party members, leaders, and stakeholders for their commitment to the rule of law and party unity during this period.
It reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), operational guidelines, and democratic principles to ensure the party’s stability and growth.
