LAGOS – The long-awaited Edo State gubernatorial election is finally here.
Though observed to be generally peaceful, the kick-off has, however, been dotted by pockets of anomaly ranging from long delay in the arrival of INEC officials and vital electoral materials at designated polling units.

As of the time of filling this report from monitoring of live television broadcasts across the state about 10:30am, actual voting were yet to commence in most of the polling units.
Meanwhile, Mr Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party has complained of unfair treatment by INEC and the Federal Government against his party and person.
