The festival, which is being organised with the support of the Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, aims to give people in the creative and entertainment industry in Egbaland the platform to express their creativity in music, fashion, and foods, while showcasing the rich Egba cultural heritage to the world.

The United States of America-based musician stated that the event, which will be held annually, will foster unity among the people of the community and provide fun seekers the frills and thrills the usher them into the end of year period.

He said, “I am doing this to give Abeokuta a modern festival which is presently missing. This is however not my first event. The drum festival which I later left for the Ogun State government was my idea, and the state is doing a good job with it.”

“Baawa is an Egba word which means to be in agreement with one another. This festival is about the further opening up of Egbaland to the outside world.
