The Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted at Loop 1 on the Apapa-bound lane and Loop 4 on the Badagry-bound lane at Mile 2 for a duration of 15 months.
This is to facilitate construction work on the Transport Interchange Terminal designed to integrate rail, bus, water, and non-motorised transportation.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on Sunday, it was confirmed that the construction would commence on Monday, 11th November, 2024, and continue until Monday, 16th February, 2026.
Consequently, Osiyemi advised motorists to use alternative routes during this period. Motorists heading to Oshodi from Apapa, and vice versa, were informed that through traffic would remain available.
For those travelling from Apapa to Badagry, he outlined that they could proceed on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, turn into Akinwande Road to connect with Coker, and access the Lagos-Badagry Expressway to continue their journeys.

Similarly, Osiyemi explained that motorists heading from Badagry to Lagos would have through traffic as usual.
Motorists travelling to Apapa, however, would be redirected to Durban Road, allowing them to link Amuwo Odofin Estate and reconnect with the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
Assuring the public of effective navigation, Osiyemi stated that diversion routes had been clearly marked with signs to aid motorists in reaching their destinations.
He also confirmed that officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority would be stationed along the affected routes to manage traffic flow.
The commissioner further urged motorists to cooperate with these interventions to minimise inconvenience and asked for patience, as the closure was part of the larger traffic management plan for the Transport Interchange Terminal project led by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).
