The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 92 suspects involved in various crimes, including kidnapping, fraud, vandalism, motorcycle theft, and drug peddling.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, told newsmen Sunday that the arrests occurred between May 1 and 15, 2024, during raids on black spots and criminal hideouts across the state. He said the suspects include two alleged kidnappers, three fraudsters, two motorcycle thieves, one vandal, and 85 drug peddlers/abusers.
The police, according to Adam, recovered two motorcycles, counterfeit currency, vandalised cable wires, and illicit drugs, including Indian hemp, tramadol, and other substances.
He said all suspects would be arraigned in court after a comprehensive investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse.
