The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested four notorious kidnappers who have been causing fear in Abuja and nearby areas.
The suspects, identified as Yau Sani (also known as Baba, an ex-convict), Nuhu (also known as Giwa), Kabiru Mohammed, and Yusuf Hassan, were taken into custody on October 1, 2024, at their hideout in Sauka, Abuja.
Josephine Adeh, a spokesperson for the FCT police command, reported that the suspects admitted to their roles in numerous kidnappings throughout the FCT, Niger, and Kaduna States, during which they killed seven victims.
The police statement highlighted that the gang had carried out attacks in several locations, including Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco Estate, Dupe Village near Zuma Rock, and Kuchiko Village. The suspects confessed to abducting unsuspecting residents in the FCT and surrounding areas, leading to the deaths of seven individuals.

“These gang members have targeted Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco Estate, Dupe Village near Zuma Rock, Kuchiko Village, and some villages in Niger and Kaduna,” the statement noted.
Furthermore, the suspects directed police operatives to another hideout in Gauraka Forest, Suleja, Niger State. There, authorities recovered four AK-47 rifles, thirteen AK-47 magazines, and one hundred sixty-two rounds of live ammunition.
The suspects also revealed plans to attack various government institutions and estates within the FCT, which have now been prevented by the police.
The police command reaffirmed its dedication to combating crime and ensuring safety within the FCT.
