The Police Command at the Eastern Ports in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has said it would work closely with the Customs Area Comptroller of Oil and Gas Free Trade to strengthen the security of seaports in the area.
Commissioner of Police in the Ports, Jimoh Moshood, stated this in when he hosted the Customs Area Comptroller, U.A. Seriki.
According to a statement last night, Moshood said they would ensure ease of legitimate commercial activities at Rivers, Onne, Calabar, and Warri Sea Ports.
He emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration and its benefit to general security at the seaports.
The Police Commissioner added that the visit exemplifies the cordial relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Customs Service.
Earlier, the Customs officer, Seriki, noted that the essence of the visit was to reinforce the existing relationship between both agencies and to seek further cooperation.
“We are here to see how we can strengthen our collaboration particularly on our seaport securitu and in turn help our country for the benefit of the people in this area and the country at large,” he said.
