    The Rivers State Police Command reports that its officers have successfully rescued a teenager who was kidnapped in Enugu and transported to Port Harcourt concealed in a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag.

    Mr. Olatunji Disu, the State police commissioner, revealed this information during a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

    Disu mentioned that the teenager was repeatedly raped by her kidnappers upon arrival in Port Harcourt. 

    The discovery of the crime occurred when authorities at Abuloma Police Station received reliable information about the suspicious activities of one of the suspects.

    “Upon receiving the information, operatives were swiftly dispatched to the area, and they arrested one male suspect.

    “Officers rescued the teenage girl (name withheld) who had been held against her will by the suspect.

    “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect lured the teenager from her residence in Garki, Enugu, placed her in a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag, and transported her from Enugu to Port Harcourt,” Disu said.

    The police commissioner also mentioned that upon arriving in Port Harcourt, the victim was brought to the home of an alleged internet fraudster. 

    He emphasized that the suspected fraudster and another individual repeatedly sexually assaulted the teenager.

    “The victim has undergone medical examination and treatment, while the suspects are in our custody,” he said.
