In a social media post by the Lagos Police Command, it was revealed that Yemi had been overwhelmed by personal challenges, which led him to consider ending his life. The police’s quick response stopped him before he could jump into the water.
RRS Commander Shola Jejeloye spoke with Yemi after the incident and ensured he was placed in protective custody while waiting for his family to arrive. The police continue to emphasize the importance of mental health support in such situations.
