Police Service Commission replaces FCT, Akwa Ibom CPs

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the posting of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Akwa Ibom commands.
Mr Ikechukwu Ani, PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, announced this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
He said that the postings were sequel to the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police (I-G).
He said that CP Peter Opara had been deployed to the FCT to replace its CP, Benneth Igwe.
Ani said that Igwe had been promoted to the next rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and posted to Zone 7, Abuja.

The PSC spokesman said Mr Festus Eribo had been deployed to Akwa Ibom to replace Mr Miller Dantawaye.
Ani said Opara was the immediate past CP, Force Secretary’s Office and former Deputy Commissioner, Administration and Finance, Imo Command.
He said the new FCT CP had once served as the Personal Assistant to a former Chairman of the Police Service Commission, ex-I-G Mike Okiro.
Ani said the new Akwa Ibom CP was a Law graduate of the University of Calabar and had served as a Liason Officer at the Police Service Commission.
