The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle landed in Nigeria, West Africa early Friday for a three-day visit.
PM NEWS reports that the duo were invited by Nigeria’s chief of defence staff, General Christopher Musa, and will meet injured service personnel.
This is their first trip to the country as a couple, and it comes after Prince Harry concluded a brief visit to London, the BBC reports.
According to the Corporation, their visit is part of a series of events linked to the Invictus Games, the sporting event for injured service men and women founded by Prince Harry which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
The Daily Mail reports that the couple, visiting Nigeria together for the first time, were seated in the first class section of the Boeing 777 and were kept apart from other passengers by a curtain.
Nigerian officials met them at the airport, Abuja Nnamdi Azikiwe International, and they were taken out of a side door onto the jetty and into a waiting blacked out minibus.
Meghan was wearing black trousers and a brown jacket, while Harry walked behind in a black jacket and trousers and open necked shirt, the Daily Mail added.
Aides carried their luggage, and they were accompanied by the same security team that had been with Harry throughout his recent stay in London.

The couple are thought to be staying in the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja where the presidential suit costs £600 a night.
The New York Post added that the couple, who were each gifted a traditional wooden beaded necklace, visited children at the Lights Academy in Abuja, where they were greeted by cheering crowds.
The former actress was dressed in a peach-hued maxi dress and accessorized with gold jewelry.
Harry, for his part, rocked a light-wash linen shirt and a similar-colored pair of khaki pants. He topped off his casual look with a pair of tan shoes.
As reported by the New York Post, on Saturday, the duo will attend a training session for the organization “Nigeria: Unconquered” as well as a reception hosted by the Chief of Defense Staff in honor of military families.
Later that day, the mom of two will co-host an event of Women in Leadership with Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization.
On Sunday, the Sussexes will enjoy a bit of sport at a basketball clinic with Giants of Africa, followed by a reception and a polo fundraiser for Nigeria: Unconquered.
