KATSINA: Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has urged for collective efforts in building a thriving Katsina within a united and progressive Nigeria, emphasizing patriotism and unity amongst all to attain desired goals during the country’s 64th anniversary.
Similarly, he pledged government continued collaboration with stakeholders to realize this shared vision, praying for peace, unity, and progress across the nation
Radda made this assertion in his address delivered during the 64th Independence Day celebration organized by the Renewed Hope Initiative in collaboration with the Katsina State Government and the Safe Space Humanitarian Initiative in Katsina on Tuesday.
The Governor who emphasized the importance of unity, cultural diversity, and national progress, said together we shall achieve the vision of building a better society for the future generations.
The event which also marked the launch of the National Unity Fabric, an initiative spearheaded by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Radda applauded the project, describing it as a symbol of national cohesion and a significant driver for economic growth through job creation and stimulation of local industries.
“This initiative aligns with the present administration’s agenda of fostering creativity, supporting local enterprises, and celebrating our national identity,” he said.

While reflecting on Nigeria’s progress over the decades, he noted that the country’s strength lies in its diversity and the shared aspirations of its people.
“Today, we celebrate not just our freedom but the indomitable spirit of unity and resilience that has propelled us through challenges alike”.
The Governor also used the event to highlight his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Katsina’s residents through various initiatives, particularly in education, healthcare, and job creation.
He said significant efforts have been put in place to strengthen security measures and ensure the safety of all citizens in the state, saying, “We have expanded access to quality education, improved healthcare facilities, and created job opportunities through our agricultural and industrial initiatives, all while reinforcing security to ensure Katsina remains a beacon of hope and progress”.
As the country continues to face modern challenges, Radda enjoined the people of Katsina to endeavor to channel the same spirit of determination that guided Nigeria’s forefathers in their quest for independence.
The Governor further assured women of his administration’s readiness to improve their lot, announcing that, government through the state women affairs ministry is initiating a scheme meant to improve the living standards of 3,400 women across the 34 LGA of the state.
