Nigerian comedian Anita Afoke Asuoha, known as RealWarriPikin has shared that she attempted to commit suicide in 2018.
The stand-up comedian and actress disclosed this on Tuesday in a post on her official Instagram page to mark World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10.
Asuoha explained that she followed advice from a motivational speaker and delved into various money-making ventures with her husband, Ikechukwu Asuoha.
She mentioned that their experimentation with different activities led to her family accumulating a debt of N22 million, which drove her to attempt suicide.

Narrating her experience in Pidgin English, she said, “I tried suicide so you don’t have to, in 2018 June 6, 3pm to be precise I attempted suicide, I gave up on life because the burden was too much. Life just dey hit me left right and center, life dey turn me round like barber chair. And I felt like the only way to escape is to end the pain.
“2017 one motivational speaker jump like monkey come tell me and my husband say you have been there for too long.
“Na so we chuck our hand for different things we come land for N22 million debt,” She narrated.
She mentioned that without her neighbor’s help, she would have managed to end her life.
In June 2024, Asuoha shared her experience with a weight loss surgery she had done a year before, citing depression and health risks as factors.
