The 24-hour curfew imposed on Ikare-Akoko in the Akoko Northeast Local Government of Ondo State, which has entered its sixth day, has started taking its toll on residents of the area.
Residents have cried out to the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, to lift the curfew.
The curfew was imposed by the governor after a communal clash which led to the killing of five persons, the burning of six vehicles, and buildings and the looting of shops, according to a report by .

While schools across the state have resumed for a new academic term, schools in Ikare-Akoko are shut owing to the curfew.
