Rivers father flees to evade arrest over alleged serial rape of 14-year-old daughter

A resident of Mile 2 area of Diobu community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State simply identified as Chinedu has fled home to evade arrest over allegation that he has serially raped his 14- year- old daughter in the last two years.
Sources revealed that residents of the compound became aware of the alleged rape following the complaints by the victim to a neighbour about her ordeal in hands of herfather.
It was gathered that the neighbour subsequently took the victim was to Azikiwe Police Division at Illabouchi, Mile 2 Diobu, where the matter was reported.
It was also learnt that the teenage girl in her statement alleged that her father have been defiling her for the past two years.
Residents told our Reporter that the suspect fled his house before the arrival of Police detectives from the Azikiwe Division.
As at time of filing this report it was gathered that the mother of the teenage girl who is the suspect’s estranged wife has taken the victim away.
When our correspondent visited the street on Thursday, the suspect’s bar was under lock and key.

In the meantime, a Rights Advocate and National Coordinator of Centre for Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign, Mr Prince Wiro, has called on residents with useful information on the whereabout of the suspect to pass such information to the Police.
He said this will enable the suspect to defend himself against allegation bordering on incest and defilement levelled against him.
Wiro noted that the veracity of the allegation cannot be ascertained if the suspect is not available for investigation.
The Spokesperson for Rivers State Police Command, Superintendent of Police, SP Grace Iringe-Koko was yet to respond to our enquiry on the incident by our reporter.
However, multiple Police sources confirmed the incident.
